Mesajah, or rather Manuel Rengifo Diaz – a singer, songwriter, producer and composer. He is well-known as a frontman and co-founder of Natural Dread Killaz, with whom he started his music adventure in 2003.
In 2008 he decided to start his solo career releasing his first album ‘Ludzie prości (The Common People)’. The original interpretations of reggae, dancehall, dub and hip-hop on the album were surprising. It appeared to be a great success and event on the Polish reggae scene and met with great media interest. It was promoted with the song ‘Każdego Dnia (Every Day)’, which is still a great hit
known not only by reggae fans.
In February 2012 Mesajah released his second solo album called ‘Jestem stad (I’m from here)’. Both the title of the record and its whole subject refer to the problem of discrimination of people of different skin colour. The author calls for tolerance and equality regardless of the background, religion or views. The album is promoted with music videos to the songs ‘Ogień (Fire)’, ‘Do Rana (Till the Morning)’, ‘Szukając szczęścia (Looking for happiness)’ – recorded together with Kamil Bednarek, and also Rap One Shot to the song ‘Wiadomość (Message)’
In June 2013 his third record saw the light of day – ‘Brudna Prawda (Dirty Truth)’. Being inspired by gigs, good reception of the previous album and positive energy flowing from his surrounding, he started writing ‘Brudna Prawda (Dirty Truth)’ just after releasing ‘Jestem Stąd (I’m from here)’.
Adry and Paxon from Popular Station Studio assisted him in the record (in the vocals) and House of Riddim, Riddim Bandits, Dreadsquad and Emir Kobolic – in the sound. A select company of guests Abradab, paXon, Yanaz, OnaManArmy, Tallib, Grizzlee, Blackout JA and IGrades choruses complemented the whole and supported his vocal actions both in the studio and on the stage.
A mixture of styles and skills presented by Mesajah in his songs is considered as unusual by critics. He is believed to have a unique ability to go beyond the type of music, draw on the essence of diverse forms and also give tremendous power to his songs. He introduces a completely new quality on the Polish music scene. The energy which accompanies his performances is so incredible that the audience enjoy themselves to the very end. Those abilities and incredible go-getting energy create ideal conditions for performing on the most significant music events. He has given concerts at such festivals as One Love Sound Fest, Woodstock Festival Poland, Ostróda Reggae Festival, Regałowisko and many others. He has accompanied such artists as: Gentleman, Shaggy, Sizzla, Junior Kelly, Stephen Marley, Wu Tang Clan, Anthony B and Alborosie.
Mesajah won the SuperPremiere 2016 in the audience vote with a song ‘Wolne (Free)’on the 53rd Festival of Polish Song in Opole!
At present Mesajah is working on his next solo album, which is scheduled to be premiered this autumn and he is giving concerts in Poland and abroad.
He will play on the main stage during One Love festival this year!
