Mad Professor – this is an artistic pseudonym of Neil Fraser – creator of music and remixes, king of the dub console. He was born in 1955 in Georgetown in Guyana. When he was 30 he left his country and moved to London. He started his career in music industry from repairing equipment. Gradually he assembled his own recording equipment and in 1979 he opened his own recording studio Ariwa in his flat in London in Thornton Heath district.  The records made by Mad Professor were noticed by a legendary BBC1 presenter John Peel and were regularly played in his broadcasts. There came a turning point in the 80s with the production of records of Sandra Cross, Pato Banton and Mack B. Professor moved to South Norwood (south London), where he created the greatest recordings belonging to a black artist in those times on the British Isles. Being one of the most prolific producers, he participated in the production of approximately 200 albums.  He is considered to be one of the top producers of the second-generation dub.  He has played a significant role in the transition of this music genre into the digital era. His inventive studio experiments and combing electronic sounds with acoustic instruments have attracted attention of numerous artists: Massive Attack, Sade, The Orb, Beastie Boys, Jamiroquai, Perry Farrella, Depeche Mode. He is also known for cooperating with such artists as: Lee "Scratch" Perry, Horace Andy, Sly and Robbie, Jah Shaka and Pato Banton. The catalogue of the Ariwa Records comprises hundreds of albums and singles.   He experiments with jungle and cumbia music.

The album “No Protection” made for Massive Attack brought him the greatest commercial popularity and in the reggae circles his visional dub albums from the series “Dub Me Crazy” played the key role. At present he is famous for his production cooperation with Prince Fatty on their joint album Mad Professor vs Prince Fatty – „The Clone Theory” (2015).  He has been travelling all over the world for years playing sound systems, making studio productions and amplifying live acts. He has been to Poland several times creating the status of a world star of dub reggae.

Aisha is a British singer born in 1962 roku.  She is a daughter of Jamaican emigrants. She has made records and played live for years with Mad Professor and she sings one of his most important anthems “Creator” (1986). She made her debut at the age of 8 on her father’s sound system. Then she developed her vocal skills in Lippys Locks City sound. In 1979 she started singing in choruses of a legendary British band of roots reggae Capital Letters. She met Mad Professora through their mutual acquaintance Dr. Alimantado in 1984. Her first two solo albums “High Priestess” and “True Roots” were made by him for Ariwa, and then they were also produced by Norman Grant from Twinkle Brothers (records “Zions Daughter” and “Raise Your Voice”).

Famous the Orb used samples of “Creator” in their hit “Blue Room”, similarly to Ministry of Sound in their “Roll To The Floor”.

She will appear in One Love for the first time this year! It will be undoubtedly an unforgettable event for the whole festival!
